ojochal - costa rica The village of Ojochal lies on the south central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Ojochal is approximately 20 minutes south of Dominical and 20 minutes north of Palmar Norte. Ojochal is centrally located to several beautiful beaches and surrounded by magnificent mountains. The village itself captures the natural beauty and mystery of Costa Rica. Ojochal Town The place consists of a variety of hotels, restaurants, bars and various activities. With many amenities including a doctor office, dentist office, supermarket, bakery, gas station, hardware store, construction companies, an internet cafe, DHL shipping store, beauty salon, taxi service and so much more. Playa ventanas Beach Playa Ventanas (Windows Beach) gets it's name from the beautiful sea caves that line the north and south ends of the beach. The two caves on the north end extend from the beach out to the ocean, a distance of about 50 meters. Pressure from the waves during certain tides can blow a large cloud of steam out onto the beach creating a "blowhole effect". The caves are very deep and are quite intriguing to venture through. This is a great little bay and is ideal for swimmers with it's fine sand and caverns carved into the cliffs. Parking is available for around $0.80 per hour with a watchman monitoring the cars. Bars & Restaurants If you're looking for great cuisine, Ojochal is the place to eat. As amzing as it might sound, Ojochal has some of the best restaurants in the region!! Excellent French cuisine and fushion food with lots of variety at the many little restaunts like Exotica. Furthermore there are several bars to enjoy the nightlife.
